We have had a busy past couple of weeks, lots of doctor appointments and lots of football!

The boys had their six month pediatrician appointment where they got their shots and the green light to start introducing cereal. We were shocked (not really) that the boys are big eaters and are having no problems eating solid foods. They have started monitoring mom and dad’s food choices, so we knew they were ready.

Below are some pictures of Aaron and Asher enjoying their first bowl of baby cereal.

Anders and Asher finally had their urologist consultation where it was decided to move forward right away and schedule their surgeries. Anders will have his hernias repaired first and since they are so large they will wait to repair his hypospadia in about three months, after he has recovered fully. Asher will have both his hernias and hypospadia repaired at the same time. We have scheduled their surgery for Wednesday, October 27. They boys will stay overnight in the hospital, but should have a short recovery time of about 4 to 5 days.

Below is a fun picture of Anders wearing his bear hat on our daily run.

Asher also had a neurologist follow-up appointment where they turned up the pressure in his shunt to slow the draining of fluid. He keeps making progress and is doing very well!

Below is a fun picture of Asher on the changing table wearing his pants on his head.

We have also been busy with football. The boys love watching the Vikings on the big screen with mom and dad. They boys also had a mid-week outing out to watch their cousin Luke’s fourth grade football game.

Below are some family Viking pictures.

Other fun developmental stuff,
  • Aaron is holding his head up while laying on his tummy, practicing standing , and is starting to sit with very little assistance.
  • Asher has taken a strong liking to his jumperoo and is quite the kicker. Without failure, he manages to kick his diaper off the changing table at least a couple times a day.
  • Anders is quite the talker, he babbles in almost full sentences.

Weight Update: Aaron 15lbs 3oz, Asher 14lbs 1oz, and Anders 10lbs 4oz

Wow a lot has happened in a month – sorry I have been neglecting my updates!

To pick up after my last post, we had a wonderful visit with my family. My brother Matt and his wife Becky, who are expecting their first SINGLE baby in December, were able to get their “feet wet” looking after the boys. They fed the boys lots of bottles and Matt is proud to report he has maintained his goal of “not changing a diaper until it’s his own kid”. As you can see in the below picture, Matt is the only one without a baby.

Becky on the other hand didn’t have a choice, as you can see she became Ander’s best friend – I actually think he wanted some quality time with his cousin.

Grandpa John and Grandma Carol got lots of cuddles too. Below are some great pictures of them with all three boys being both “Grandpa’s Sidekicks” and advocates for “What happens at Grandma’s stays at Grandma’s”.

The boys had their first family fun. We broke down and bought some jogging strollers – it may have been the largest “baby” purchase that we have made, but it has been worth every cent! We are quite the sight running through the neighborhood. I can’t tell you how many times people drive by and hold up three fingers as if to ask “three??” We politely smile and node our heads … “yes three!” You can’t tell by the picture, but they boys actually do LOVE going out for a run and we love getting out of the house.

Below are a couple pictures of Dad and Asher & Mom and Aaron.

The biggest news of the month is that the boys are FINALLY sleeping through the night. We have had a week straight of solid sleep with all three boys sleeping from 8-9pm to 4-5am! Their acid reflux is completely under control and we are finally settling into a routine.

Dad snapped this picture of all three boys while mom was at work; I thought it was super cute. I’ve asked dad to take new pictures every day – so expect lots of pictures and I promise I will do better and updating the blog.

Aaron had his first road race this month. Best Buy had a United Way 5K race and Mom decided that it was time for her to get back into running full swing. Her team had a Vikings theme and he fit right in with his new onesie that Grandma Carol go t for him. It was fun to see him be viewed as a singleton and to get some quality one on one time with mom.

We are hoping our next race will be at the end of this month for the Monster Dash 5 or 10K where mom & dad will take the boys dressed in their sea turtle halloween costumes!

Aaron and Asher are finally big enough and have started playing in their jumperoos. As you can see in the picture below and video they are have lots of fun. Their feet barely touch the ground but they still manage to get bouncing a little bit. I have a feeling they will be an essential part of our survival in the upcoming months.
